Entrepreneurship in Poland is feminine and certainly has a female face, said Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology Jadwiga Emilewicz during the 2018 Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum. The event, held on November 16, was organized by the Polish Network of Women’s Entrepreneurship Ambassadors Foundation. The Polish edition of the forum was part of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) calendar.
This year’s forum was held under the theme “Make Friends with Artificial Intelligence… It’s Already Happening – Blockchain, Virtual Reality, and Other Space Technologies in Business.” The event’s main theme was the practical application of new technologies in business. Speakers explained, among other things, the modern technologies we are dealing with, the opportunities they offer, and how to use them in practice.
“In Poland, the number of women on boards and in management positions statistically exceeds other countries; we are higher than Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States,” said Jadwiga Emilewicz. “One in three companies in Poland is founded by women. Moreover, research we conducted in conjunction with the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) showed that women do this not because they are forced to, but because they want to,” added the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology.
Approximately 300 people attended the event. One of the highlights of the program was the presentation of the protagonists of the book “Ambassador of Entrepreneurship in Poland. Never! Don’t Give Up. How 21 Entrepreneurial Women Think and Act.” The publication is the result of a collaboration between entrepreneurs who wanted to inspire and help other entrepreneurs achieve their goals. The book features stories of professionally active women who have achieved success in their fields, exemplifying that determination, ambition, and hard work yield results.
Among the protagonists of the book is Oksana Yarema, founder and CEO of Fingrow Consulting Group. “I believe in the potential hidden in every company—I can recognize it and transform it into success.” Hence the name of my company: FINGROW, derived from the words FIN, meaning financial, and GROW, meaning growth. I ensure long-term development and profit growth for entrepreneurs. I believe in the principle of three N’s: “Nothing is impossible,” says Oksana Yarema.
The authors of the book were invited to the stage, where they had a souvenir photo taken with, among others, Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz.
