New car sales are growing among Poles. The most cars are bought by companies constituting as much as 73.1% of buyers. Electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular.
In April 2018, a total of 44,7 thousand cars were bought in Polish car dealerships which is 13% more than last year. In total, 184,601 new passenger cars have been registered in Poland since the beginning of the year, an increase of more than 11% compared to last year. However, used cars are still the most popular, and since January 2018 more than 300,000 have been registered. The brands that Poles are most willing to choose are Škoda, Toyota and Volkswagen.
A clear increase can be seen especially among electric and hybrid cars, which are more and more willingly bought in Poland. In total, the share of eco-cars in the total sales of passenger cars in the January-April period was over 4%. Only in April 2018 Poles bought about 1,900 hybrids, which means an increase of as much as 35.1%, as well as 133 electric cars - here the increase is impressive, as it amounted to as much as 171.4%. The sale of diesels fell, however.
According to Exact Systems' forecasts, the total sales of new passenger cars in 2018 will exceed 500,000 in Poland. In the European Union, in April 2018, over 1.3 million new passenger cars were bought, which increased by 9.6%.
